A Wollongong based manufacturer of industrial engineered products for local & export markets has a 6-month contract role available for an experienced MRP-based Purchasing Officer. The position is available for an immediate start.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- purchasing of supplies & services from established suppliers.
- generation & interpretation of MRP forecast ordering data.
- placing and expediting of PO's to maintain target stock levels in a JIT, make to order manufacturing environment.
- liaison with internal staff and external suppliers.-
The ideal person for this role would have:
- current purchasing experience in an industrial engineering manufacturing environment.
- strong MRP skills, ideally including knowledge of TIMS software
- intermediate level Excel and Work skills.
- ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- good team, people and communication skills.
- a proactive, make it happen outlook.
Normal Monday to Friday office hours apply, and the hourly rate is negotiable according to experience and background.
